Medicare supplement insurance, or Medigap, is private insurance that helps pay for most of the out-of-pocket costs not paid by Original Medicare (Part A and Part B). Supplements have a monthly cost in addition to your Part B premium. This is an ideal option for someone that wants to see any doctor that accepts Medicare regardless of insurance networks.
Long-term care, routine eye exams, routine dental exams, routine hearing exams are some of the items not included in a Medicare supplement.
Hospital indemnity plans are designed for individuals that have a co-pay for inpatient stays, emergency room, or urgent care visits. These plans are low cost and pay you directly in the event of hospitalization. Individuals need to qualify for this additional coverage by answering health screening questions and are separate additional insurance from other insurance plans.
